I first stumbled across the Kelso dunes over 30 years ago during a trek across the Mojave Desert.  This was my first visit since 1988 but I was glad to see it hadn't changed much.  I pulled into the deserted campsite around 9 p.m., well after sunset and ate dinner while listening to the coyotes, and the next morning I shot this panorama.  Shortly afterwards I hiked up to the tallest sand dune that you see here.
