I camped one stormy night at Black Mesa State Park in the far western Oklahoma panhandle. The next morning was beautiful, with not a hint of the fierce thunderstorms that had rolled through here the previous evening, and I drove a few miles to the tri-state marker denoting the boundaries of Oklahoma, New Mexico and Colorado. Shortly after I took this panorama, a young, mustachioed rancher named Justin and his two young daughters pulled up in a pickup truck and we talked for a while, then he hitched up the water container you see here and towed it away.
